Repairs
Repairs, restoration and remodelling
The drawer of broken things everybody has: a snapped chain, a ring that no longer fits, a brooch with a stone missing. Most of it can be mended, and some of it can be turned into something better.
What Kerry takes on
Resizing
Rings taken up or down, including awkward settings and full eternity bands.
Chain and clasp repair
Broken links, worn clasps, snapped solder joints and stretched loops.
Stone replacement and resetting
Missing or chipped stones matched and reset, with claws rebuilt where they have worn thin.
Refinishing and polishing
Scratches taken back, edges redefined, and the original finish returned.
Restoring inherited pieces
Careful work on old and fragile jewellery, keeping as much of the original as possible.
Remaking old jewellery
Pieces that never get worn taken apart and remade into something you will actually wear.
Before and after
A locket back in daily use
Late Victorian, badly scratched, with a chain that had parted in two places. The engraving was too worn to keep sharp, so it was cut back by hand rather than polished flat. Drag the slider to compare.

How pricing works
Nothing goes ahead without your approval
Every job is quoted after Kerry has seen the piece in person. Photographs are enough for a rough idea, but metal, wear and old repairs only tell their story under a loupe. You will get a price and an honest view of what is worth doing before any tool touches it — including when the answer is to leave it alone.
Small repairs are often same-week. Restoration work takes longer, and Kerry will tell you which it is at the point of quoting rather than at the end.
Reassurance
Insured on site and in transit
Everything left at the workshop is covered, and posted items travel on a fully insured, tracked service both ways.
Handled the careful way
Old jewellery is worked cold where it can be, stones are removed before heat goes near them, and nothing is polished away that carries the history of the piece.
By appointment
The workshop is a working bench, not a shop counter. Book a time and the piece gets Kerry's full attention while you are here.
Repair enquiry
Send us the piece and the problem
Describe what has happened and add a few photographs. Kerry will come back with a rough idea of what is involved and whether it needs to be seen in person.
